Finally, a gorgeous day and a trip to Canmore and the opportunity to wear a sleeveless summer dress.

The purple French terry top is out again, but this time with the front ruched up.

Finally the weather is nice enough to wear a dress! I found a way to use up the left over feather fabric in this teal linen dress. Altering the shoulder area with the kimono sleeves proved quite the challenge though, but it was another great learning experience.

The weather is still too cold to break out the summer clothes, so it’s back to the beige twill pants, but at least I get to wear a t-shirt this time.

I fell in love with this colorful drapey fabric and decided to have a go at these capri pants. I also lined them and gave them a belt, but there is no side seam to chop up the pattern.

I made these two cushions for a friend and her sister who lost their Mom last year. The most huggable picture frame ever!

After taking some really great pattern drafting courses with designer Kristi Woo, I was inspired to try making something in a knit. Of course I chose a really challenging French Terry with a big design, which took many hours to cut out, but it turned out pretty good. And yes, there is a center front seam!

Beige cotton twill pants
This was my first real attempt at making fitted dress pants. I had to make an insane number of pattern alterations, but after 3 mock-ups, I am pretty happy with the result.

I heard about “Me Made May” last fall and discovered this wonderful challenge which has inspired me to make my new summer wardrobe for this year instead of buying things.
My βMe Made May β19β declaration: I endeavor to wear something that I have made (new or old), or redesigned, on at least 5 days each week during May 2019β . I will also post pictures of each outfit on Flickr and Instagram to hopefully inspire others to have a go at making something of their own.
So here is my first Me Made May outfit - a cozy teal sweatshirt, with a swing!
